Bow Archive ( 9 / 99)
Jan 2023 - PresentWhen I was a little girl, I didn’t into dolls, dresses, and bows as other little girls – symbols I perceived as overly feminine. Reflecting on this, it seems that my upbringing instilled rigid gender stereotypes and a sense of shame associated with excessive dress-up. As I matured and embraced the diversity of the world, many childhood misconceptions faded away. In recent years, I found myself captivated by bows, a timeless adornment dating back to Roman times. From evolving gender symbols to today's gender-neutral expression, bows have undergone a fascinating journey in history.
In the <bow archive> project, I aim to use bows as a medium, adopting a whimsical perspective to explore the myriad possibilities of this seemingly simple yet profound accessory. The project delves into the essence of bows, transcending traditional gender associations and celebrating their diverse aesthetics.
Join me on this journey as we unravel the 99 facets of bows, challenging preconceived notions and embracing the ridiculous and unusual beauty encapsulated within each twist and turn of bows.
